In high school, our math teacher would always reshuffle our seats before a test. During one of those events, I ended up sitting right next to the classmate who hated me the most. About half an hour into the exam, he asked to be allowed to go to the bath room. Grudgingly, the teacher granted permission.
Five minutes later, the classmate came back with his head pretty far in the clouds. He had trouble finding his seat and then just sat there, with a smile on his face. Even though I knew how much he despised me, I found myself whispering: "At least pretend you are still trying to solve the exam."
The "drug doer" in panel 3 was supposed to resemble Sean Penn in his first big role in the R-rated teen movie "Fast Times at Ridgemont High".
He plays a happy pothead and is one of the central figures of the movie. Of course, the drawing's resemblance to him is next-to-nonexistent (and will get worse on Friday).
