On the one hand, I love drawing and working at night, with no interruptions or anything. On the other hand, when I get tired I become so focused on what I'm doing that I don't even realize how my output is steadily slowing down.
Also, what seems like a stroke of genius at 2 a.m. frequently looks frightfully amateurish eight hours later.
If you squint real tight, you can tell that there is an actual strip in that third panel.
As for the fourth panel: After the first going-through, I suddenly realized this didn't look half bad. So I had to proceed to uglify it. Oh, the humiliation.
