Should this be the first "This Is Me" strip you set your eyes on, the joke will probably fly right over your head.
I'd recommend you start at the beginning. Or perhaps with this strip here. By the time you get back to this comic, it will seem hilarious. (I can hope, can't I?)

My wife actually posed for the hands holding the coffee cup. She hated doing it, but hey, part of our vows was "in good times and in bad."
