Should this be the first THIS IS ME comic you ever see, you will probably go "huh". (Should this not be the the case, you probably will go "huh" anyhow.)
The current "storyline", as it were, starts here. The current strip follows this one.
Ah, cross-hatching. I wish I were better at it.
As Andy crosses over into the strip, his deep shadows recede. Everything that enters the nimbus of the main character seems to fade to gray. Except for that robe, which isn't quite a robe either.
